CGA Monthly Meeting
February 1, 2012
7:45 to 9:00 p.m.

Attendance:  Brit, Dave, Fran, Shawn, Sue, Terri

Treasure Report:  As of January 4, 2012 we had 4, 669.64.  $100.64 was spent on pizza for all members that attended the last meeting.  $85.00 came in for membership dues which brings us to a total of 4,634.01 in the account.  All accepted and all in favor.

Fran had contacted an accountant who gave her some information on how to file ourselves.  Thank you Fran.

Old Business:  The rule book was revised and presented to all members to vote on.  The rule book has been accepted and voted on unanimously across the board.  Thank you to all the board members who worked very hard on revising the old rule book.  There were no emails or concerns from any club members on the new rule book.

New Business:  There were only (2) charities presented to the board members to have the benefit show for.  The first one is the CT Draft Horse Rescue, which goes and purchases abused and neglected horses at auction and cares for them and finds them homes and the second one is for the State of CT York Correctional Institute in Niantic CT called The Abuse Cost Recovery Account, which takes in and cares for the horses that were seized in the state.  Both great charities…The vote will be held at the March meeting.  Please come and vote, you must be an eligible voting member and be present to cast your vote.

Pleasure riders have requested score cards and score cards they will have 

Beth Tolhurst has confirmed for 2 shows to be our pleasure judge, thank you in advance Beth.

In the past the club has always done no ribbons/paybacks on the first and last show, but after much thought we decided to give ribbons on the first and last show of the year.  Sorry no paybacks because those funds will help start off the following year expenses. We also are thinking of clinics, prizes at each show, e.g. most kids from one barn, and some other exciting new additions to the shows. Our first CGA function will be March 17 at the Agway Adventures in Danbury CT.  If anyone would like to volunteer to help us this day please contact Dave.

Some members have discussed selling items at the shows.  As long as it is ok with the facility we are at, it is ok with us.  We are asking if any items are sold that a donation of 10% be donated to the club.  This will be on the honor system.

Thank you to Terri and Kevin owners of The Frame Shop in Waterbury for donating space for us to hold our monthly meetings.  The first one will be in March, directions will be emailed etc.

Unfortunately, it is with great sadness but due to lack of participation, attendance, and no notification from one of the current board members, he has been removed by the board. Terri has accepted the position on the board and her position as the alternate is up for a current eligible member.  Becky has volunteered to step into this position on an interim basis until it is filled.  Becky also wishes to run for this position and will present a essay to Dave. If any eligible member would like to also run for this position please contact Dave ASAP and it will be voted on at the next meeting.  All members will be notified prior to the next meeting if there are more people running for this position.
